  Homebuyer Education Credit

Over the years, New Jersey home buyers have taken advantage of American United’s HBE Credit to save thousands on their home purchase.

What is an HBE Credit?

Through our partnership with Mywayhome, a non-profit educational service, American United provides a variety of seminars and workshops designed to guide consumers through the administrative and financial hurdles of purchasing real estate.

Participants who complete at least one 2-hour class will receive an HBE Certificate that entitles them to certain benefits, including; reduced mortgage rates, lower closing costs and a 25% reduction in the initial Private Mortgage Insurance ( PMI ) cost, when required.

Why Does American United offer HBE Credit?

Studies show that loans from borrowers who have received face-to-face home buying education have performed better than from those who did not - a substantial benefit to lenders and borrowers.

This performance benefit improves our market cost as a lender, which we pass along to our clients to save them thousands on their home purchase.

How do I receive my HBE Certificate?

To receive an HBE Certificate you must complete at least one 2-hour class. The following upcoming classes are HBE approved: (Click here for upcoming HBE Classes)

Who Should Attend?

The HBE Credit is available for the following purchases:

  • Home purchases between $150,000 - $750,000
